The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded program in Australia that provides support to people with disabilities. An NDIS plan is a written agreement between the participant and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) that outlines the support and funding that the participant is entitled to receive.
There are Three Types of NDIS plans:
The First Plan: This is the initial plan that a participant receives after being assessed and approved for NDIS support. It usually covers 12 months.
The Plan Review: This plan is completed after the first plan has expired. It is a reassessment of the participant’s needs and goals, and it outlines the funding and support that the participant will receive for the next 12 months.
The Special Review: This plan is completed if there has been a significant change in the participant’s circumstances, such as a change in their disability, a change in their living situation, or a change in their support needs. It allows for an adjustment of the participant’s plan to better suit their current circumstances.
